Here is a recipe that I got off of the HBT forums for a Honker's clone. I'm not sure who posted, but don't make this recipe. It is not good. Too bitter, needs more victory malt, and needs american hops. Info from Goose Island is sparse. I used the numbers they have available on their website.

A friend of mine loves Honker's Ale, and so I told him I would try to make some. I made the above recipe, and we were all very disappointed. I've done some more research, and I had a "round-table" with my friends, and we decided that a better recipe would look like the following. I wanted to make it a full all-grain to get some of the maris otter character into it. I upped the victory content, through in some special roast, and changed the hops to more american styles. I haven't brewed this yet, but it will probably be a lot closer than the previous recipe. Also note that the following recipe is for 2.5 gallons.

Hope that helps!?! :mug:

Thanks, do you think the revised version would be a bit closer to the honkers? I am in Chicago staying at a friends condo down the street from the brewery, so getting a lot of honkers in me for a good base sample :)
