I've recently purchased a power drill for use on my grain mill, which works great, but I've also noticed my OG has been well over my target.

Estimated - 1.063
Actual - 1.083 (+.020)

I have to assume it has to do with the setting on my grain mill when using a power drill. Does anyone have any advice on what they have experienced in setting the mill grinders separation? Some grains are smaller than others so trying to find a happy medium.

Are you using BIAB or a mash tun with false bottom? A higher efficiency can be a good thing if you aren't getting stuck sparges. What is your efficiency when milling with power drill vs. hand crank?

To be honest, I really don't know what my efficiency is nor do I know how to calculate it. I've read a few articles on it, but seems like it was more complicated than needed. I use a mash tun with a SS bazooka screen.

Well if you're achieving higher than expected O.G. then your efficiency is higher than your recipes are calculated for. This can be a great thing because it can save you a couple bucks per batch in grain. So, calculate your efficiency. Use an online calculator or do the math yourself. You can learn more about it here http://beersmith.com/blog/2008/10/26/brewhouse-efficiency-for-all-grain-beer-brewing/ or here http://www.braukaiser.com/wiki/index.php?title=Understanding_Efficiency
Adjust your recipes to the efficiency you've been getting, which would mean less grain, or widen your grain mill gap a few millimeters for a courser grind until you hit the numbers you've been expecting.
