It's actually pretty clever compared to what would be "man" shows 15 years ago. I don't watch most of the shows you listed, about half of them I do. If you watch Game of Thrones (the book series is almost the same in this aspect) there is *not* a lot of fighting. It IS on the other hand A LOT OF PEOPLE standing around talking about who theyre gonna kill and how, which is basically a soap opera.
Not that I am complaining, I love the books, and the TV show SWMBO likes (though complains about because she wants all the bad guys dead). It's really clever though because, women will like it because there isn't just a bunch of sword fights all the time (game of thrones), or just zombie gore violence 100% of the time: this is in no way meant to sound sexist, but from the standpoint of being a commercial success shows like GoT, Walking Dead, and such, are wildly successful because they get the male audience interested because theres boobies/violence/swords/guns/zombies, then they have actual decent to semi-decent dialogue and character interactions that don't involve cutting their head off.
This I realized while I was about 75% the way through a 25oz bottle of strawberry cyser while watching Game of Thrones. Watching 4 seasons and not realizing its a man soap opera is pretty god damn clever.
