Not sure if anyone does anything like this, but I realized after brewing yesterday, I want to measure the distance between the two of the gallons marks on my sight glass and transfer it to a small piece of wood or something. I'll graduate it in tenths and then I'll be able to hold it up between any gallon marks at any moment and know my precise volume without having to add vinyl stickers to my sightglass at half intervals - plus, I'll have tenths instead of just half gallons. Eyeballing it does work, but this will be all the more accurate.
