I know! Really? A Colorado Cool-aid Clone? Hang on now! The beer gods had a curve ball thrown at'em... Beer...good beer has been taken away from the wife. So I'm trying to get her a good GF basic beer she can enjoy. From there...well an amber then a her fav...a red! Then maybe we go GF for all our pours!
So here's my try at developing a GF recipe of a "light" yellow fizzy brew. My hope was to use 2-row Pils and 6-row lager malt with a 90-minute mash as the base. Our local HBS doesn't carry 6-row. So my fall back option is to bump up the Pils malt, add rice solids, flaked rice and flaked corn. Check out the recipe and share your comments. O! The GF component: Clarity Ferm in primary.
A question: Is 1/2 LB of flaked Corn and 1/2 LB of Rice enough?? Should I go full out and add a full pound of each? I'm trying to keep this under/around 4% ABV. But the taste has to be there too.... Should I back off the Pils malt and bump up the flaked Rice & Corn?
