My glass carboy is clean (no visible residue or stains), but there is a lingering smell. The smell is kind of sour; it is not overwhelming, but I am concerned it might impart an off-flavor to my next batch of beer.

Does anyone have any tips on getting rid of the smell? I was contemplating filling it up with water and some lemon juice, but not sure if that is a good option.

I'm a new brewer - only one batch of beer under my belt (or in my belly, I suppose.)

Thanks.

Add 1-2 tablespoons of Oxyclean Free, fill with hot water, and soak over night.

If that doesnt work, try adding some white vinegar and then filling it up and letting it soak.

Just remember to rinsh well after trying these.

Oxyclean Free is some of the best stuff to clean any equipment. Takes all that nasty gunk off with a nice soak
