Getting non fermentable sugar in Auckland New Zealand

Hi Guys,

I'm hoping someone from Auckland here can help me with this. I've tried a couple of home brew shops and they stock sweeteners that are very, very strong. I'm looking for something, maybe lactose, for sweetening at the bottling stage. Can anyone recommend anything, that I can easily buy? I've not been able to find a supplier for anything.

I hear people use splenda with good results( also very strong. use sparely). Do they sell that down there?

We do have that, commonly in the supermarket, I had thought of it but wondered if it was fermentable (says it's made of real sugar??). I could give it a try! Thanks.

It's not fermentable, so you can go ahead and use it. However, it's very expensive, but you don't need much.

Did you try Hauraki Homebrew in Albany?
I am guessing this is sodium sacaride (sp?) - same thing as slenda in the US (don't know about our stuff)
