Gasket inside fermenting bucket lid

When cleaning/sanitizing your equipment, do you remove the gasket that's inside the fermenting bucket lid?

Yes, absolutely.

Nope. Just scrub it out with a brush. I don't worry about scratches on the lid, either....but make no mistake....I don't do this on the bucket itself. Gaskets are really unnecessary....you don't need that much of a seal for the airlock device to work.
