Frozen Yeast

Harvested my yeast, washed it and split it into 4 jars. Was out of room in my garage fridge so I put em in the mini fridge I have in my office. Well....2 of em froze....anyone have experience freezing yeast? I have heard of people doing it with mixed reviews. I was crash cooling them but had not decanted the beer of of them yet so I have 1/2 an inch of yeast and the rest of the jar is full of clear frozen beer.....guess it is time to buy JZ and Chris Whites yeast book!

I freeze yeast all the time... with glycerine.

Most of the cells in a frozen container, without glycerine, will be damaged.

The part that did not freeze, no matter how cold it got, is still good.

Thanks PD, gonna look into freezing with glycerine. Do you have a link to a guide by chance?
