I always cold crash my beers before kegging as it helps clarify the beer. I kegged a batch of my honey ale today and only got about a gallon into the keg. I popped the lid and found that the fermenter is filled with layers of thin ice! That is when I looked at the thermometer in the fridge and discovered that it was at 28 degrees F! I think I may have inadvertently distilled this beer. The ice pretty much tastes like water. Haven't tasted the beer yet but it sure isn't going to be what I was hoping for. I'll add this to my list of stupid brewing mistakes.
