Anyone have one?

I got one as part of our wellness program at work. For all eight hours I've had it, it seems like a motion detector that does a few simple, and some magical, calculations based off the movement of whatever body part its strapped onto.

It's not the dumbest fitness tracker I've tried. At least it didn't think my drive home was me running 60 mph. But I dunno. What do y'all think?

I've carried a Fitbit One in that worthless little pocket on the right side of your jeans for going on three years now. As far as pedometers go, it is by far the most accurate I've ever used, and the sleep tracker is interesting -- it monitors how much you move at night, and determines if you're just 'restless' or 'awake'. It's really interesting how often it picks up that stuff -- I think when I first started wearing it, it said I was restless 15 times during the night, and 'awake' 3-4 times, for a total of "X" minutes. What it terms as 'awake' doesn't necessarily mean "conscious", it just means the extremely light levels of your sleep cycle.

Now that they've added the capability to have multiple trackers linked to your account, I've been thinking about picking up a Charge HR to monitor the ol' pump when I'm working out.

Oh. That's the pot pocket.

It said I was restless 13 times last night. I feel like I slept pretty good.

We'll see how it does on fresh full day. Work is doing that proactive health benefit thing that we all clamored for. I'd be an ass not to try.

Dated a girl who used one of those things. Used it as a competition with family to see who could get the most steps, etc. I feel that if they are good motivation to get up off your butt and get moving then they are great. As far as the health tracking portions, I have yet to play with one, though I would like to what it says about how much I walk per day and how much that varies from day to day.

Then again, I know I am not in the best shape. I may be skinny, like BK skinny, but I sure do not get enough exercise.

i have one as well.. it doesnt do too bad.. just make sure you put it on your non dominant hand or you will question its accuracy..

"how did I walk 5000 steps last night while i was laying in bed... (looks at porn on his phone).. ohh nevermind"

I used one for a few years and was fairly satisified with its accuracy. Its consistent at least, so you can try to beat previous averages and stuff. It works well enough in conjunction to the Fitbit app for counting calories, I was able to lose some real weight while using it (~15lbs). I especially appreciated the sleep features, as I have an insomnia diagnosis. It was useful to bring that data to my doctor to show when I was going to bed and when I was getting up, and how low my quality of sleep is.

My wife doesnt like her's quite as much, but she still uses it. She has tiny wrists, and even the small band is lose on her. I think that is part of the problem.

I've used a zip (smallest/cheapest they make) for the past two years... i too keep in my pants "change" pocket. i like it a lot...it's accurate and the fact that it syncs with your phone is handy.

On a side note...fitbit's cs is outstanding. I lost my original zip in vegas last year (which sucks because it was shaping up to be a record day...haha). I emailed them just to see if they could offer a discount on a new one...turns out that they sent me a brand new one for free. i was back up and running in a week.

I've been using the Charge since January and love it. I'm really liking the sleep tracker as it tells me each and every day exactly why I'm so drained, mostly because I got just under 6 hours of sleep with a few restless moments in there. All that aside though, I really do enjoy keeping up with my steps each day, especially since I start my mornings on a treadmill at 4:30am.

I thought about getting the Charge HR, but seeing as how the one I'm wearing was free I think I'll just stick with it and not worry about the heart rate monitor.

I wear one. I love it actually and I'll be upgrading to the fitbit charge HR soon.
Though the step tracking is not exact, it's not far off. I walked 2.4 miles the other day and my FitBit said it was just over 2. It's nice when I hit 10,000 steps in a day. that only happens a few days a week at best though. I have a desk job so moving is pretty well non-existent for me unless I get up. I don't have to walk anywhere really unless I want to visit the kitchen.

The ex gf used to keep hers in her bra. Took me a while to locate the source of the weird patterning at first before I realized this. I guess that might be an option for your wife if she finds it not too uncomfortable.

My step and mile tracker is way off today. I was out in the plant a bit, but not over 11,000 steps and over 5 miles. It gave me 1,700 steps for driving to work. Some of the steps came from swinging a mallet and turning a T Handle, but even still, it's still way off. I'll try putting it in my watch pocket. That's what that pocket is really called.

So wait, you dated this chick who had a bump on one boob the size of two red beans, and you were just like, eh, whatever?

Naah more like the pillow crease outline in the shape of a rectangle. I was thinking that maybe she needed to go lingerie shopping or something at first. Then again I got to see/touch boob so that was pretty cool too.

Oh. Well, then. Carry on.

Now I'm wondering if I should've cut the smaller band to use the holder in my pocket. I could've wore that band... somewhere else. Track how many miles I do THAT for, fitbit.

I just received the fitbit Alta. So far in the hour I have worn it I can say its very comfortable and lightweight. Set up menus are a bit scattered as there is no step by step format.

My wife bought me the Surge HR less than a year after getting the Flex. I think it was a trick to get me to wear a watch. Fine. I wear it.

Somehow, this thing thinks riding a motorcycle is climbing stairs. 64 flights today. :drunk: My bike doesn't even vibrate much.

They use a barometric altimiter to determine flights of stairs - riding your motorcycle would cause numerous shifts in air pressure over the sensor, thus the 64 flights.

I got a Charge HR a couple months ago, really diggin it. I spent a lot of time comparing to the Surge, but the only differences seem to be appearance and GPS. Sorry Zuljin, looks like your wife low-jacked you. :D

They did away with the stairs thing with the new Alta. I guess just ridding in an elevator counted at stairs. Moving your arms does count as steps though. I shoveled a few loads of #2 stone after work and my Alta started buzzing like crazy. I had reached my 5 mile goal!

My wife has one and is really into it. She has fitbit challenges with her sister and mother and with people from work. Her goal is 15000 steps a day and if she doesn't have them by dinner she'll either walk the block or on our treadmill until she does. She has offered to get me one but with the work I do (oh shes also a primary grade teacher, on her feet all day) I would struggle for 1000 steps... I really don't want to know how much I walk or don't walk.

Ok I'm convinced. I'll get one as long as its this one:
