Have all my supplies and itching to get started!! I'm looking for a good AG or partial amber recipe to get started with. Don't want to ruin my motivation by making a crappy first batch. Love Mac & Jacks, but thinking a slightly lighter bodied amber. Suggestions are much appreciated!

Blonde Ale? Its super easy to make/great starter beer, and its really nice and drinkable. You could substitute some darker Crystal and some Amber malt if you choose.

10 lbs Marris Otter (Pale UK)
0.5 lbs Crystal 20L
0.5 oz Centennial @60
0.25 oz Centennial @ 20
0.25 oz Centennial @ flameout
US-05 Safale American Yeast

Mash at 154 for 90 min

Primary & use Gellatin for clarifying.

Playing the devil's advocate, I would recommend that for a very 1st brew, you might want to pick up a kit- either at your LHBS or an on-line store. While the directions may not alwys be the best(post here and we can help), a proven recipe with all the ingredients is probably the way to go until you get your techniques down pat.
