I brew an El Hefe kit yesterday.

Everything seemed to go well and temperatures were good across the board during each step of my brewing process.

I filled up my fermenter and pitched the yeast. Well I re-hydrated it then added it to my cooled wort.

I added vodka to my airlock as suggested by my kit instructions. It's been fermenting for about 12 hours. I noticed this morning that the right bubble of the airlock is empty and all of the vodka was pushed into the left side of the airlock.

Is this a sign that my beer is fermenting correctly so far?

Depends on the side you view from ;).

It means there is a pressure differential, probably caused by the start of fermentation.

I say "probably" because it really means nothing. Could just be a change in atmospheric pressure. Something caused it to push the liquid to the other side. What that "something" is will be determined soon.
