First bottling, Does this look OK?

Hi,

I've just finished bottling my first batch!
When I was almost done, I thought I should check inside of the fermenter.. The attached pics are what I found...

Is tha actually ok like that?

I'm particularly concerned about this odd almost purple gunk that was around the top layer of the fermenter..

That normal?

Krausen will generally leave a ring around the fermenter like that. Fermentation can look pretty grim.

A second thought: New stainless? That type of thing might clear up after a thorough cleaning

What'd ya make?
 
Ah phew OK, that colour was a bit off putting that's all... Rest went perfect and looked quite decent.

Belgium Ale, and I stuck on some manuka honey from Mangrove Jacks... Tasted all right before bottling anyway!
 
I recall something about new stainless having some sort of film that needs to be removed with a thorough cleaning before use. Did you do that?
