Well today was D-Day for my first batch. First taste was surprisingly good. I did an American Amber kit for my first batch and even though I was sure that I did 15 things wrong on brew day and bottling day it turned out pretty darn well. Good carbonation, pretty good taste (a bit malty and not hoppy enough for my tastes).

Overall, I'm pretty impressed with my first batch. Now it is time for batch #2!

Congrats! Good for you! If you can do the important things correctly, you'll end up with great beer even if you screw up lots of little things.

Welcome to the best hobby ever! Making decent beer is reasonably simple... And then you get sucked into raising the bar each time :)

Congrats, and oh what a feeling the first sit down with your own hand crafted brew! Save one or two for the future so you can compare the difference between short and long bottle age. cheers!
