Maybe my SCOBY hotel didn't get kept clean enough. I don't know. Sicker than a dog. Twice.

My question is, can I rinse off my best looking SCOBY and add a tablespoon of vinegar to my next brew? I don't have any good starter tea.

Thanks for any help/ideas

Sick in what way?

The solid part (snot pancake) is called a pellicle. SCOBY refers to the microbes that are present on it and throughout the kombucha including the liquid.

Therefore all the pellicles in the same container will contain the same culture, more or less.
