fermenter suggestions

I am thinking of buying a fridge for fermenting. I guess Ill probably need an external thermostat as well. Im sure I can find a a419 for 50 dollars online but what is the somewhat economical choice for a fridge. Do I go with 5 cubic foot freezer or a mini-fridge? Anyone have a suggestion as to the model to buy?

I would rather have one that doesnt need modified to fit a carboy.

If it's going in your garage/basement, look in the classifieds for a cheap full size fridge. I got one locally for 25 bucks, took out the shelves, built a wooden shelf to make the bottom level (I took out the 'crisper' plastic drawers), and drilled a small hole in the door to run the thermostat wire through. Simple as that. If you want something like a mini fridge to put in your house....I'm sure someone will leave a post with that info for ya.....
