Hey there,

I have a 1 gallon barleywine recipe, but have something in my one gallon primary fermenter.

My only other available vessel is my 7 gallon SS Brewtech bucket.

I have some time to brew tomorrow, but would only be able to transfer the 1 gallon barleywine to the 7 gallon brew bucket.

Is that too much airspace, and should I just hold off until my 1 gallon fermenter is clear, or would it be fine?

Thanks in advance, cheers!

IMO, it's too much headspace. Either wait or go and grab a 1 to 2 gallon PET plastic bottle of water and use that bottle as a fermenter. Option 3 is to brew now, use the 7 gallon fermenter, but make sure you transfer to a smaller secondary before you reach FG.
