Fan to cool tower

I doubt either of those solutions would prove viable, you really need to pump the cold air to the top of the tower and let it push the warmed air back down.

If you take a look at a typical store-bought solution...

...you note a common theme.

I made my own using a 40mm 12vdc fan, a tiny plastic project box, 1" ID/1-1/4" OD vinyl tubing (same stuff I use for blow-offs) and a sweet 1-1/4 to 1-1/2 shop vac attachment I stumbled upon at Lowes.

Stuffed up the tower column with the beer lines strapped to it.

Works great - keeps the Tower air temperature within about 10°F of the keezer air temperature...
