I posted this in the bottling forum but seeing as this one gets more traffic and I need an answer I thought I'd repost. Sorry in advance

I picked up the emily capper today with some caps in order to test them on my bottles before bottling day next week.

My problem: I have some 500ml bottles from a german dunkel and when I try to cap them it doesn't seat properly and the bottom of the bottle slides out. The end result is only one side of cap gets crimped and therefore isn't solid.

Is this something that i'm doing wrong? is it a problem with the equipment?

please help?

I can return it and get a bench capper tomorrow if needed, please let me know

I would get a bench capper. I love mine and it is easier and works better for me then my old wing capper.
