Hey all,

I'm dryhopping my Kamacitra batch tomorrow with plans of kegging on Tuesday. I would like to have the beer cold when kegging Tuesday, around 50f. So question can I dryhop at 50f? Or is that too cold?

Jake

I usually dry hop at fermentation temp for typically 1 week. I then crash at 40° (leaving dry hop bag in) for 3 days before kegging.

Dry hopping is just adding aroma so I don't think temp plays a huge role, but I could be wrong. Also, since active fermentation is complete and you're only dealing with conditioning, temperature won't have an impact on flavor as long as you're not going to an extreme high temp.

Dry hopping at 50F should work fine, though most people attempt to do it warmer, to aid in the ability of the liquid to extract desirable compounds from the hops.

Higher temperature = More efficient extraction
