I have a 1/2 ounce of cascade hop pellets left over from last weekend.

I just transferred an 11% barley on to pinot soaked oak chips. Would pouring the pellets in the carboy cause any harm?

toss those bad boys in there if you want, part of the hobby is playing around with all the possibilities.

How long are you planning on aging it? The longer you age the more the hop aroma with diminish. If it's in the bottle for a year I seriously doubt you're going to get anything in the nose from .5oz of cascade. I would save it for something else.

If you are going to age it, either dryhop about one week before you bottle, or directly in the keg. Like others said, the hop aroma will fade out too much if you start now.
