So I am wanting to make a nice light beer for the summer so I chose the Centennial Blonde since it looks to be one that folks are liking.

please critique my receipe


Original Recipe

7.00 lb Pale Malt (2 Row) US (2.0 SRM)
0.75 lb Cara-Pils/Dextrine (2.0 SRM)
0.50 lb Caramel/Crystal Malt - 10L (10.0 SRM)
0.50 lb Vienna Malt (3.5 SRM)
0.25 oz Centennial [9.50%] (55 min)
0.25 oz Centennial [9.50%] (35 min)
0.25 oz Cascade [7.80%] (20 min)
0.25 oz Cascade [7.80%] (5 min)
1 Pkgs Nottingham (Danstar #-) (Hydrated)

My Version aka Centennial Dusty Blonde Ale

7.00 lb Pale Malt (2 Row) US (2.0 SRM)
12 oz Carafoam (2.0 SRM)
10 oz Melanoiden Malt (20.0 SRM)
0.25 oz Centennial [9.50%] (55 min)
0.25 oz Centennial [9.50%] (35 min)
1 oz Brewers Bitter Orange Peel (30 min)
0.25 oz Cascade [7.80%] (20 min)
0.25 oz Cascade [7.80%] (5 min)
1 Pkgs Nottingham (Danstar #-) (Hydrated)
1 vanilla bean split open (secondary)

May want to add the orange peel at 5 minutes remaining or so. I think 30 minutes is too long to boil it. No clue on the vanilla, and I hear melanoiden is strong, could cut it a few oz (6-8 instead of 10) since its a lighter beer and probably easy to overpower with that type of malt.
