hey guys. i JUST got back into brewing after a 3 or so year hiatus (shame on me). put together a pretty simple batch of what should be a nice dark and mild stout. (feel free to comment)
6lbs light DME (minus a cup for the yeast starter)
1lb flaked oats
1lb chocolate malt
.66lb roasted barley
1oz kent golding pellets (60)
1oz kent golding pellets (10)
White Labs Irish Ale yeast - in a 1qt starter for 36 hours or so
the starter must have gone well, since about 8 or 9 hours after i put it in the fermenting bucket, it had blown the top off my 3-piece airlock and was foaming up like crazy. rigged up a quick blowoff tube and shot a quick video of the insane bubbling action. enjoy, and ignore my heavy breathing... ;-)
