I don't think you'll save money building your own. However, you have the satisfaction knowing you built it and you can source parts that are made in the USA. I ended up building my own because I would rather support an American company. It was also fun, offer a buddy some beer to help you.
 
Build one, you can then customize yours to what u need, I started out at the basic build and then as standing at lowes looking at all the different fittings, came up with new plans and built one to my exact needs, adding in a thermometer is also a plus to building your own. It does end up being close to price of those u pointed out but in my opinion you will end u with a better one if your create what u need
