About three months ago I bottled a Quadrupel. I corked with a Portuguese floor corker at about three volumes, but even though they are fully carbed the corks never mushroomed, they look the same as the day I bottled them. What I'm I missing if anything? Here is a picture of them bottled and a picture of a commercial cork (on the left vs. mine).

The commercial cork is a different cork. Yours are fine and will retain that shape. There's not enough pressure in a beer to push a cork out of the bottle, so the cork will keep the shape it had on bottling day. My Belgians have never had a change in cork shape.

Best of luck!

To rephrase prandlesc, homebrew corks suck. As much as they cost, I wish they didn't, but I've never been happy with them.
