Condensation Exhaust Hood

Condensation Exhaust Hood ideas..

I'd like ideas on adding an exhaust and fan to my all basement electric brew house. For over 2 years been utilizing a high speed windows fan, work OK but still get humidity and a lot of condensation on the fan and window sill. I have about 8' to the drop ceiling but only about 6-8" to the ceiling joists.

Any ideas or project pictures appreciated.

Do you have any pictures of where your boil kettle sits, where the window is, and which way the joists run? How big is the element (s) in your kettle? Are you thinking of using a hood?

I brew in my garage in south FL so I don't use an exhaust fan, but I can tell you this... whatever solution you put together, in order to prevent/minimize condensation in your exhaust system, you must draw much more volume of ambient air than the steam/moist air you are evacuating. You want the combined volume of air to not be saturated at the ambient temp (i.e., relative humidity is under 100%). Good luck!
