Is it common for the pressure in your tank to drop noticeably after putting it on your keg and sticking it in the fridge. This is my first time kegging and my tank dropped into the red zone overnight after attaching to keg. I sprayed all connections with soapy water and did not notice any leaks. My tank is a 5# tank that was filled and never used.

Yes, those tank gauges are a tad better than worthless. The tank pressure will drop when put in the fridge. If you've sprayed your connections (and keg) to look for leaks, I wouldn't worry.

Yeah the temp drop can really effect those gauges. Sometimes It'll go from green right to the white area when chilled, and wont move a bit until it just hits empty.
