First attempt at a stout recipe, any help would be greatly appreciated.

#10 marris otter
#1 flaked oats
8oz crystal 60
8oz chocolate pale malt
8oz chocolate wheat malt
8oz black patent
#1 lactose
2oz northern brewer at 60

Wlp002

Secondary with 4oz cocoa nibs and 2 vanilla beans for 2-4 weeks

Toast oats in oven at 300 until they begin to color to give off a nutty oatmeal cookie flavor

Mash at 154

Ferment at 66 for 1 month

FWIW, my comments are:
Drop the 0.5lb chocolate wheat, and increase flaked oats and chocolate pale to compensate.
Use debittered black instead of black patent
Way more cocoa nibs (it takes a lot) and probably less vanilla (can be very strong).

I have seen some pretty high attenuation with WLP002 (almost 82%), so I generally mash a bit warmer for some residual sweetness and body.

Good luck.
