Cascade dead?

I put a cascade rhizome in the ground earlier this spring and it grew a nine about 5 inches tall and then it got really hot one day and now the bine is withered and dead. Did the heat kill it or can a rhizome just crap out like that? All of my other varietals are doing just fine.

Heat can kill a bine, but there's a good chance that more will grow.

I grew cascade in Tucson, AZ...heat will kill some bines, but the strong will survive.
