Good morning. I've been in contact with a guy who's willing to sell me a carboy for only $15, but he says that it has some staining because he left Star San in it too long. Should I be worried about this affecting the functionality of the carboy?

starsan shouldn't stain glass.
oxyclean if left a long time cold will leave a residue, but a white vinegar soak will clean it out.

could also be limescale and CLR or vinegar will strip it out.

look at it first though.

+1 on CLR.

StarSan shouldn't stain glass, but it DOES etch it if it's left in there at too high a concentration. If I saw a cloudy carboy, however, I'd assume it was mineral deposits first and hit it with vinegar to see what happens.
