You can use any kind of fermentable sugar from the grocery store....except powdered. Powdered contains cornstarch. And will clump.

Except for that anything pretty much you can think of that is a form of sugar and somewhat pure, can be used. Different kinds of sugars like turbanado and date palm. Fruit juices, honeys, syrups (like maple), hard candies......you can even flavor your normal priming sugar with spices and other flavorings, like ginger, or cinnamon, or star anise...anything you can think of.
