I have 1/2 lb of Candi syrup left over and I'm trying to incorporate it into my (robust?)porter recipe. Im not sure how much base malt that would equate to as far as abv goes. Its the d-45 candi syrup(dark amber). How do you think this would turn out?

2.5 gallon batch

4 lb maris otter
8 oz chocolate malt
6 oz crystal 40
1 oz roasted barley
3 oz flaked barley

then add the 1/2 lb of candi syrup during the last 15 min. of the boil

It's equal to the same weight in LME or about 2lbs (1.8lbs) of 2-row. It's not going to change the color in that grain bill, but will up the ABV.
