Came up with this idea today for a fall type brew. Any thoughts or suggestions?

Ha ha... I'm a noob. I need you to say "That sounds great! Here's an idea for the recipe:". And then you proceed to come up with a recipe for me :)

Sorry to disappoint you, but doesn't sound great... Butter or nut, are two flavors that are not compatible with an IPA.
If you're noob, maybe will help you to check the BJCP or BA sites for style guides (really helpful and enlightening). :mug:

Hogwash! Style guidelines are for competitions and commercial breweries! They have no place for a homebrewer:D Beer is being redefined in America.

It's a fine idea-- try a british style ipa grain bill. Use some roasted barley--- try carafa-- 1 or 2-- for the nut flavor and use irish ale yeast fermented around 68-72F for the butter touch (diacetyl ain't always an off flavor)...

It's not off base at all--- sammy smith India Ale--- could be described as a butternut ipa for sure....

EDIT: Okay I am bored... Here you go. You better make it!

I was thinking butternut squash, but I doubt that flavor would come through in an IPA too well (could be a great addition to a brown ale though).
