A bad diptube O-ring could be letting gas enter the liquid line or if the liquid line is too short, the lack of adequate restriction induced back pressure could be allowing co2 to come out of solution.

When I had this happen to mine, it was the liquid out dip tube o-ring that had gotten buggered up and was allowing CO2 from the head space to get into my beverage line.

ok this is a 1/6th keg, not a corny. i should have mentioned that. I'll remove sankey coupler and re-tap. can i use vegetable oil or something on the seal?
