I am in the process of making a Maple Pecan Nut Brown Ale. I just moved it to secondary. The OG was 1.082 and the current G is 1.008. That means an ABV of 9.7%. If it turns out to be great, I want to enter it in a competition. Should I enter it as a English Brown or a Barleywine? Right now it is still pretty cloudy and has strong alcohol flavor with good maple and pecan flavors not much hops. Grain bill was 9.5lbs of grains with 32 oz of Vermont maple syrup.

Um, neither. Seems more appropriate in the specialty beer category, especially if the maple and pecan flavors are evident.
