Brew Sculpture questions

I'm building a brew sculpture soon, maybe as soon as this weekend, and have a few questions:

1) What are the pros/cons of having a tiered system and just a 'bench' scupture where all burners are the same height? I know that the bench involves getting a pump if I want to move liquids between vessels...what is everyones' experiences w/ pumps?

2) Anyone try making one with wood? For now i just want to build a nice cheap one (less than $150) so that i stop breaking my equipment and/or hurting myself moving my keggles to and from burners. Eventually I hope to just get one of the brew sculptures from morebeer.com -- but I need something that'll get me through 5 or 6 years until I make the plunge.

What's the deal w/ the duck tape around your keggles-- insulation?

Yes, to insulate. They have three layers of insulated foam on them covered with black duct tape.

Have you been able to tell a big difference? I too have been considering insulating my mash tun.

I insulated them before using them, so I don't really know. All in all, I've been very happy with my setup.
