Tonight I went to the lhbs to buy some yeast for my amber ale I am brewing tomorrow. I meant to buy the wyeast 1098 and accidentally bought the 1028.

The recipe I am brewing is the zach and jacks african amber from the database.

Anyone have any thoughts or experiences? I didnt realize my mistake till the starter was on the stirplate. I could always go back tomorrow but I'd rather not.

So what ya think?
Thanks!!!

Don't worry...

The two yeasts are not dramatically different. The difference should be negligible. Just brew and enjoy your brew when it is finished.

It would really matter if the two yeasts were way different. Like if if it was a Belgian yeast or somethinig like 1056.

Thats kinda what I thought but the profile of the 1028 kinda scared me "...rich minerally profile..." to me that screams metallic taste or something like that!!!

Thanks
