bottle capper question

Hi guys! Total newbie here, and I have a question, does anyone know what that screw in top of my capper does? Does it adjust something or is it just for holding my capper together?

No help from me.....honestly, I've never seen a capper like that. I will say I've graduated from a wing capper to a bench capper and very glad I did.

Its like the adjustment on a wine corker. It does allow you to adjust it, so when you cap you can have a nice smooth cap instead of one with a dent in it.

Looks like the same basic design as any plastic hand capper.

But yours looks more sturdy and adjustable. Not the pieces of crap they sell today.



Keep it. Use it. Show it off. I wish THAT was my first hand capper. I've gone through 3 since I started because they keep breaking. I finally got a bench top capper.
