Recently had to have a new boiler installed in my house. The old boilermate that went with my old boiler was in very good condition but the new package had it's own hot water tank soooo I kept the old one. It's a perfect heat exchanger, I'm thinking about maybe jacking around with it somehow, not sure if it would work as a chiller, may be hard to sanitize. Anyway... I'm soliciting ideas? Or perhaps I'll just trash it. It's copper tubing coil in steel shell.
Thoughts?

Ok here is a picture, at least I hope it loads

Practicalities aside, I wonder how much wort would be lost inside the hex tubing on every batch.

Anyway...no doubt every inch of the tubing is coated with an amalgam comprised of god only knows what. Cleaning that would be improbable, and sanitizing it would be impossible without getting it clean first.

Scrap it...

Cheers!
