Does it make a difference? I hear amber protects against light better, but over what time frame? Does it really make a difference for something you'll bottle and drink in less than a month? What about for aging cider?

I would definitely choose amber over blue when it comes to blocking UV, but at the end of the day the bottle color doesn't matter if you don't expose the beer to UV light in the first place...

Cheers!

You're only worried about the hops reacting with UV. A Cider could be in any color container as long as it wasnt hopped.

Thanks. I have a cider that's about ready to bottle. I just picked up some blue ez-cap bottles at the local homebrew store. The blue goes well with my Giants swag around the house.
