Blow off tube setup - Better bottle

Is there any reason why putting vinyl hose OVER the drilled portion of a standard better bottle bung not work for a blow off setup? Everything I have seen has been to jam a smaller tube INTO the drilled hole. Has anyone tried? Thanks...

It should work just fine so long as its a tight fit and CO2 doesn't push it off the stopper hole. I'd guess most folks go in rather than over just due to the size of the tubing they commonly have on hand

Exactly what I do. 3/4" OD by 5/8" ID vinyl tubing does the trick

Thanks - went to the hardware store and picked up some 3/4" OD by 5/8" ID, and it seems to hold nicely.

Anyone else?
