i cant find a striaght answer, so i decided just to ask.

I want to clean my beer bottles, will my method work. I always rinse my bottles out after pouring, can I just rinse them in a bucket of cold water with a little bleach, and then run them through the dishwasher the next day (without soap)?

If this will work, how much bleach should I put in a 20 galleon bucket if I want to them sit over night? Thanks

I'm not sure if bleach rinse is needed if running them through the dishwasher, as the heat cycle should sterilize them. Regardless, I used a tablespoon per gallon when using bleach (and only bleach as a sanitizer) and had very few problems. Soaked for a half hour then rinsed the crap out of them. It works, but Star San is a thousand times easier, better, and safer I strongly recommend it. I switched to SS and have never looked back.
