Black Lagers ... have you tried ...

Tried Guinness Black Lager?
What did you think?

Thought it was decent ... but I think I was looking for something more like the only other black lager I've had which is Sprecher Black Bavarian ... actually, BB is my favorite beer period.

I can only think of one that tastes similar to Black Bavarian ... August Schell Schmaltz's Alt, a "double Alt" warm top fermented then lagered after fermenting ... similar flavor though not as strong.

Are there any other Black Lagers or other beers that taste similar to Black Bavarian that you can think of?

In trying another Black Lager ... what would you recommend?

The Rock Bottom Brewery had a dynamite black lager a year or two ago.

I haven't had a chance to try guinness black lager yet but I love Shiner's Black Bohemian. Its an awesome brew that ya'll should check out when you have a chance
