Best way to add fruit

I brewed and american wheat it's been in carboy 3 weeks now. Wanting to make it strawberry so I have 4 oz of flavoring but interested in putting real berries in the beer and using maybe 2oz of flavoring, but never used fruit any suggestions

I added over 2 pounds of strawberries in secondary and took the beer off them in 6 days so that the beer didn't get too bitter/wine like. It worked well.
 
Using both the fruit and extract is wise. You'll get a more complex and appreciable flavor than with just either.
 
Big question is I see folks doing a purée using vodka then just putting it in secondary and pour primary on top not sure on the vodka I guess that's to sanitize the strawberry
?
