Can anyone recommend a good basement thermometer that can keep track of temperature fluctuations in a basement over the course of a day or a few days. I don't have a clue how my basement maintains but I would be interested to know before I start my first batch and expect that my basement is the right place for it? Thanks.

I bought a "weather station" by Oregon Scientific, I think it was. It was inexpensive, but it works well. It shows trends in temperature, and the HI and the LO. It doesn't have a read out for the rest, but it works well with the remote station. You can see at a glance (in the kitchen) what the temperature is in the basement, and if it's staying steady or increasing/decreasing.
