I just tried my second batch of a Dogfish Indian brown clone and even at only 3.5 weeks old it is amazing IMO.
I started with a recipe I found on Hopville, and followed it for my first batch. I felt it was lacking in bitterness, body, and color. Taste was off slightly as well. For this (second) batch I added hops, maltodex, and subbed out special B for the Crystal 60L that I used the first time. The special B really gave it great color and raisin flavors.
I highly recommend this recipe if you like hoppy browns!
6 lbs Amber Liquid
1 lb Light DME
1lb Pilsner Malt
11oz Amber Malt
11oz Special B
6oz Coffee Malt
3oz Roasted Barley
6oz Brown Sugar
11 oz Corn Sugar
3oz Maltodextrin
1oz Warrior@60min
1.5oz Golding@15mins
1.5oz Liberty@3min
.5oz Golding @Dry for 10days
.5oz Libert @Dry or 10 days
~7.2%ABV, ~100% delicious.
