Just brewed a Coopers European Lager kit for the first time, and added my own touches to it.
Was wondering what's actually in these things? I'm assuming it's mostly pilsner malt extract. No idea what they use for hops, other Coopers kits seem to be bittering hops only and quite low IBUs but this one cost a bit more so maybe it has a bit more hopping.
I brewed a single can with no extra fermentables into 3 gallons, so that should increase the amount of pre-hopping that is in the extract. Added some extra hops for good measure...
1/2 oz Saaz @ 15 mins
1/2 oz Saaz @ 5 mins
1/2 oz Hallertau hersbrucker @ flameout
OG is 1.053, Fermenting with 34/70 lager yeast from a previous batch at 50f/10c. Took exactly 1 hour from start of boil to yeast pitched and cleanup done, thought that was pretty good.
