I have lots of riddles, but I didn't know this was "the riddle game."

The chance to use them all? It's the same as my name...

Maybe you sir are in black ops
Or mate just covered in bruised hops [emoji3]

A riddle you say I'm next to ask
That is the game and is the winner's task
I'm sorry my friend I don't have an original tonight
Just one that was posted on the first riddle night

I'll ask it again, once again to all tonight
This is a good riddle, it makes brains out a sight

I have nine melons that I speak of
I wonder which one is the heaviest, Gov

I have a scale similar to balance and justice
There are probably not a whole lot of them among us

A known amount of weight on one side balances out the other
Do you get a picture of the scale now my brother

But this scale is nearly broke
Good for only two tries my bloke

I did it in two and so can you
Tell me how' tween me and you

Also, since this should be an easy one with the clues I've given
Please answer in a riddle rhyme rhythm [emoji3]

If all the melons weighed the same save one
then this problem could be done.

but if eight are not comparable,
then a solution is quite improbable

i am not a rhymer my words do not sound right
forgive the bungle, if they don not sound like it otter
all i can think of is a teeter totter

i gave it a shot, now i think not
a teeter totter it could not be
I knew in the begin'n
I would not be win'n
try i must,even tho I bust
but it was fun for me
It is a shame,
I did not win the game drunk1.gif

Sorry my friend teeter totters not the answer.

I edited the riddle cause some questions were left out
Take another ponder while enjoying a stout

Sorry I left out info. The riddle I wrote last night was unanswerable. I realized that today. Please take another look

This is a good riddle, it makes brains out a sight

I have nine melons that I speak of
I wonder which one is the heaviest, Gov

I apologize my riddle left out a an important fact
One melon is heavier the other eight weigh less but each the same exact

I have a scale similar to balance and justice
There are probably not a whole lot of them among us

A known amount of weight on one side balances out the other
Do you get a picture of the scale now my brother

But this scale is nearly broke
Good for only two tries my bloke

Yes Ordof it's like see-saw
Now tell me how to find the heavy ball

I did it in two and so can you
Tell me how' tween me and you

Also, since this should be an easy one with the clues I've given

It is late, but night shifts are boring. Riddles and rhymes I'm not sure are for me.

Nine melons, one scale. Three groups I need. Mathematics and rhyme may be too hard for me.

Three melons on one side, three on the other. Balancing the scale will leave one group or another.

So, then is left the same situation. Only now with one melon per side this rotation.

The scales tipped in this case will lead me to favor the heaviest melon, but how is its flavor?

Fast as a meteor I move 'cross the sky,
when you swing your scope or move your eye.
Intangible but common, and used every day,
you likely won't notice unless I'm off in some way.
I help to make art, yet science rules,
I'm in your water, I'm in your jewels.
Photographers really know me quite well,
they can make me soft or sharp as hell.
I'm called different things, but I'm just the same,
Can you guess what I am? Play the riddle game.
Regards, GF.

Additional clue:
I'm also a metaphor for a place you can go,
with plenty of people & action you know.
The center of town or the commons at school,
c'mon, take a guess, I know you're no fool.
Regards, GF.

I believe jratcliff won this game!
I had two answers both wrong in the same
Only thing I could come up was vision or sight
And I'm definitely sure those are not right
So mr jtracliff we await GF's approval
I'm hoping you're right cause you're nobody's fool

GF? What say you?

I hope this riddle has not been used,
For the entire thread I've not perused.
But if you're ready I'll give a go.
Here is what I'd like to know:

I go in dry and come out wet,
The longer I'm in, the stronger I get.

What am I?

This riddle is old, it's plain to see
As I can answer with no reverie
While some might say cement it be,
I say, it's a bag for holding the leaves of tea.

Two in a whole and four in a pair
And six in a trio you see
And eight’s a quartet but what you must get
Is the name that fits just one of me?

I opened a bag of walnut halves,
and counted out eight,
and had a quartet of walnuts.

But maybe my brain needs some salves,
and the answer doesn't rate,
and if so I'm just a bit nuts.

I was too specific to be right,
but I won't put up a fight.

Mine are often too simple or obtuse,
but lets see if you can deduce

What it is that makes a homebrewer like tigger,
so put on that cap and go figure

That will count, it might be silly, don't be mad,
but losing your hops would make both sad.

So although rhyming, your forte is not
It is now your turn to give it a shot

It's been fun reading this thread,

But it seems a few of you are locked in a shed.

At last it's a new day,

Now I leap from my bed to brew another IPA

Cheers to all [emoji482]

Rhyming, my forte is not
but I'll try to give it a shot

Hops are what Homebrewers use
and hops are what Tiggers do.

The wonderful thing about Tiggers is I'm the only one

My tail is made for bouncing my head is made for fun

The wonderful thing about Tigger is........

I hop, I hop, and hop! :)

#1903 above already answered this one...

I got nothin'
apologies -
head's in a bad space - someone else please pick up.

I visited a house during a hot summer's day and it was pretty cool
The architect was truly a genius and nobody's fool
In winter time the house stayed toasty and warm
Very cozy and dry even during a snow storm
The year of the build I'm not to sure of
But probably 2 to 4X older than all of us here gov
Another wonder of this house were the hidden banks
Not like he had Wells Fargo safes stashed under the planks (almost not)
As far as I can remember there was no electricity
Then again man my memory is not serendipity
Definitely not modern central air conditioning or heat
But truly my friend this house was real neat
There are probably a few things I forgot
And is this truly a riddle? Probably not
If you've been to this house you'll definitely know
How it was cooled in summer and warmed in the snow

Anybody knows the name of this house no rhyming answer needed
But you do know rhyming riddles and answers on this thread were plead'n

(Please don't let this history question; more than a riddle end this thread. Somebody out there might know the answers or not. Either way don't let this thread stop - we'll move on before that happens)

This house is alright, quite outta sight, and was designed by Mr. Frank Loyd Wright.
It's built over a creek & was named tongue in cheek, it's the coolest house you'll see all week.
On days when it's hotter, you can play like an otter in the house that's named "Falling Water."
Regards, GF.

GF that truly is a really neat house!!
My riddle, my question, my word games a louse (whatever that is; sounds Dr Sue-ish

No, the house I'm thinking of is not a fair riddle.
I tried to find it with Google today while playing my fiddle

Let me tell you all a little more about my dilemma
Maybe it would help me if I sat in a cinema
(No point to the last two lines except they might of rhymed)

Pretty sure but I could be wrong
The house comes from the state of the Illini strong

The builder's wife lived with an agonizing plight
She was sickly and dying like a plant suffers blight

It's late and my mind and body are tired
Had a few beers after work with some folks I admired
But I gotta go now time to stay up has sleep expired

So I'll see you all a little later
We'll talk more then, alligators

And to GF who is normally correct
Could very well be My question is to indirect
Cause the name of your builder seems familiar
But over a creek that house ain't nowhere similar
I thought about asking my brothers maybe childhood memories they had
It would be an easy answer for my dear late dad
So I'll keep researching. And my mind will keep burning for this long time memory in my mind is burning

My 1st guess was good, though it was quite wrong, I guess I'll have to change my song.
Some of the clues you've given are tough, I must use my thinking cap, sho-nuff.
Perhaps the age of this house is a clue, a place to keep things cool for you.
Before the icebox was a common thing, people built houses over their spring.
They kept things cool & often didn't freeze, the spring house is something at which you shouldn't sneeze.
My guess is a spring house, what say you, Sir Dan? Did I get it wrong, or am I truly "Da man?"
Regards, GF.

I apologize but I have to go out of rhyme line this time but will be back and it will be so sublime (what?!)

Oh GF, I almost wish I wouldn't have asked this question.
The house you describe is like the one I'm thinking about in regards to nature providing temperature control

Three distinct aspects of this house I remember

1) the house was cooled during summer by earth cooled air conditioning. Plenty on the internet about the concept but just remember he probably did the digging without any modern tunneling tools and I want to say this house is from the 19th century. I could very well be wrong about that

Ok hold on. I'm calling my brothers and sister

(Now truly an hour or so later; I didn't lose my draft just came back to it)

Oldest brother, the historian - no answer

Little sister (who I'm one of three brothers) - no answer

Little brother the Doc. He came up with the answer the house on the Rocks.

I love him, but thinking his memory is stinking bad. ( he was like 9-10 in 76)

Which does maybe give me a timeline for this history addiction fix

From his work shop down below
He could watch the fire hearth glow
By a kind of sight glass he succeeded
It showed him when fuel was needed
Convection was his very warm friend
He put ducts through the house end to end

Is this a new riddle, or more clues for the previous one about the house?
Regards, GF.

Sorry not to be clear. It's that darn house. Maybe my brother was correct and its The House on the Rocks, in Wisconsin.

Everybody please feel free to start a new riddle. This one I'm afraid won't be answered unless first hand knowledge of the house and then the clues make sense.

Cheers!
Dan

Ps. I'll probably continue posting clues but won't during an active riddle. Man, I wish my father was still here, he'd know the answer.

The butcher at my shop stands four feet nine inches tall
wears size 13 sneakers which make his legs look small.
So given the above clue
it's all up to you
What does he weigh?
Each and everyday
