A ladies rule, hit 40 then start counting backwards. A mans? Hit 50.

Sorry for not rhyming.. I've even missed the timing. :D

How bout a joke?

A Roman walked into a tavern, held up two fingers and said, "I'll have five beers, please."

Well LRB,

I only believe in one flag waving country. The post you wrote LRB, made that clear to me

USA is where I live
My flag for I do give
Do not tread across my dead
They are my brothers and gave up homesteads

So their kids and grandchildren would see no more war

Im the USA flag

My country has a ****load to brag

Does anybody even remember how our greatgrandfathers didnt surrender

They fought long in foreign lands, so their children would live in free land

People; with all the persecution against being an American - Do not give in.

Nuff said.

I probably closed down a great thread singlehandedly

If I did? Worry

Lol. I thought maybe it we were sexting like the kids do these days.
The answer to the riddle and your post crossed ways
In case the homebrew made it unclear
I think its your turn to post a riddle here

My poor attempt to make this one rhyme
Harder than the riddle and took a long time

There once was a six digit number
The tens digit two more than the previous brother
The third one in line is two digits behind, the second number
The third one in line is the same as the 1K this time
Ten thousands digit is two more in kind than his previous brother
The last in line the 100K kine is two less the 10K this time.
So what are the digits we fidget?

Seems like there should be one more clue. You've got 6 digits but only 5 clues. For example, 131131 and 242242 both seem to fit the clues. I think there are 7 variations here what would work. OTOH, it is a riddle, so maybe I just am not getting it :)

With great respect, PP your answer is correct
I think there are six clues, the fourth line counts as two

The third one in line is the same as the 1K this time

As far as variations go, I don't know
I stopped at three between you and me
The pattern seems to support ten variations my friend.

(disclaimer, maybe I screwed up the riddle when I poorly attemtped to make a rhyme out of it. I had it wrote out on a peice of paper that I can't find now. But I do remember going over it a few times to check for mistakes and didn't come up with any. It's just a repeating pattern based on the first digit of the six)

I guess someone else will have to get it. I'm stumped.

Regarding the pattern, I only see 7: 131131, 242242, ... ,797797.

You're probably correct on the number of variations then. I only tried three and to be honest I don't feel like figuring it out again. :D

Now I'm questioning myself though. I'll try it again later. I hate putting riddles out there that should make sense but I might have screwed them up trying to rhyme the dang things.

Aha now I see's
Only 7 possibilities

A
B=A+2
C=B-2

2 4 2 2 4 2
3 5 3 3 5 3

That last line is a 5 digit number. You can't just put a leading zero in there and call it a 6-digit number. BTW, I'm amazed at how closely your notes there match what I jotted on a piece of paper when I figured it out. Amazing really.

Except, F = E-2.

haha, look familiar?

Thanks for the correction on that last line, PP. I orginially didn't include it and then looked at it again and thought, hey there are six digits - it counts. But you as usual are quite correct Pappy. Zero doesn't count.

BTW.. I just looked at my piece of paper I wrote this down on and yes F=E-2.. Typo on my part.

That's why I've never done well in math.. I always screw up a number somehow.

Same backwards and forward. Pretty sure this only took you a few moments to figure out but not me. I was thinking strings on a guitar and was wrong about that too. :)

They're not even similar:

EADGBE Every Adult Dog Growls Barks Eats

this has been fun but I think I'm done..

Ha, it's a palindrome. My favorite palindrome:

A man, a plan, a canal: Panama!

Alright, I'll try to come up with something unique. If anyone else has a riddle, don't wait on me to post mine :)

I read and rhymed and did not see
and reading pass it is not just me
so I am glad we took it to this level
and for the answer we now revel
thanks a lot for the stump
and now for another so we do not have to bump
